Scopus has changed the way users connect to the service off campus via the portal. When you connect to Scopus via the portal a Login Required to Access Scopus screen is displayed. You need to select the login here link for the Athens and Shibboleth (Institutional) users option which is first in the list. From this link you need to select the UK Access Management Federation and University of Greenwich from a list of institutions. You should be transferred to Scopus via the OpenAthens Authentication screen.
The University uses single-sign on via the portal to authenticate our students and provide access to our e-resources on and off campus. This has to be done via the University of Greenwich portal. After logging in to the portal http://portal.gre.ac.uk with your Greenwich computer ID e.g. za012 and password:
Select My Learning
In the Search the Library portlet select the Online databases and academic journals link
On the next page the eresources are arranged alphabetically by title
Select the letter ‘S’ of the alphabet or scroll down the list and select Scopus to be transferred there.
Note also that you should never enter your University of Greenwich login credentials anywhere other than the University portal.
